CPI-206 Painting Techniques
- NOTE:
BC
means Basecoat; DB means drybrush: HL means Highlight; WB means wipe back
using #760 Antique Media; PB
means Pat Back with soft cloth. Spray
means spray with #761 Perfect Matte Spray. NOTE:
Always refer to picture for placement of colors.
NOTE: Materials needed to
finish a piece are highlighted in bold print the first time they are used.

- Glazed
Pieces:
Begin with properly fired cone 04 bisque. Paint as directed. Allow to dry
completely. Fire to shelf cone 06.
- Tikis
& Watering Can.
Pour SC-210 Roll-A-Coat inside the all pieces and roll around until the
inside is covered. Pour out excess & turn
the piece upside down until glaze has lost the shiny look. Wipe off excess
glaze with moist sponge.

- Apply 2 coats of PC-501
Terra Cotta Pottery Coat. Apply
2 coats AC-302 Wax Resist to
desired designs and bands between sections. Scrunch up some plastic wrap and pounce AC-302
Wax Resist onto to lower edge of Mushroom caps.
To alternating sections, apply 3 coats of EL-105
River Birch & EL-106 Tidal
pool. Apply one coat of PC-602
White Cascade around top edge of each section.

Terra Cotta Pottery Coat. Apply 2 coats AC-302
Wax Resist to underside of mushroom cap, bottom of stem neck & top
of stem base. Scrunch up some plastic
wrap & pounce AC-302 Wax
Resist onto to lower edge of Mushroom cap, stem neck & stem base.
Apply 3 coats of EL-207 Gold Mine to top of cap & stem neck. Apply 3 coats of EL-107
Amber Ash to bottom of stem base.

- Apply 2 coats of PC-501
Terra Cotta Pottery Coat to frog. Apply 3 coats SC-16 Cotton Tail to eyes. Dot and line eyes SC-15 Tuxedo. Line mouth & dot nostrils SC-34 Down To Earth. Apply 2 coats AC-302 Wax Resist over eyes, nostrils & mouth. Apply 3 coats of S-2591
New Leaf S-2564 Sun Yellow mixture to the frog. While 3rd coat is still wet,
spray diluted SC-34 Down To Earth onto the wet glaze. Use small spritzer
water bottle. Float SC-26 Green Thumb around arms, legs & chin. Apply
3 coats SC-74 Hot Tomale to center of Crown. Apply 3 coats. SC-24
Dandelion to crown. Line SC-15 Tuxedo.
