Painting Instructions for 4018 Obama Bust
Basecoat the following areas: the following colors
Coat: 922 Navy
Shirt: 900 White
Tie: 925 Med. Blue
Skin: 954 Med. Brown
Hair: 902 Black
Antique entire piece with 740 Walnut. Wipe back with 763 Antique Media
With a soft brush apply 716 Angel Flesh to the skin. Apply very small amounts at a time, smoothing and shading the color with the brush as you go. If necessary, smooth the Angel Flesh back further with a clean soft brush. If needed, apply a small amount of 740 Walnut to the mouth and eye creases. Apply a small amount of 715 Burgundy and 740 Walnut to the lips and pat back with clean soft brush to desired intensity. Paint eyes 900 White, Iris 906 Cocoa Brown and pupils 902 Black. Line the outside of the iris with 905 Rich Brown. Apply a very thin line of dilluted 902 Black to area between the top lid and the eyeball as a shadow. Apply a thin line of 716 Angel flesh to the area between the top of the bottom lid and they eyeball as a highlight. Apply small dashes of 900 White to the pupil as a light reflection.
Drybrush the following Areas: the following colors
Coat: 922 Navy and then highlight with 922 and 900 White in the same brush.
Shirt: 900 White
Tie: 925 Med. Blue and then highlight with 925 and 900 White in the same brush.
Hair and eyebrows: 902 Black and then highlight with 903 Smoke.
Paint stripes on the tie 922 Navy and 900 White.
Spray the entire piece with 761 Perfect Matte Spray to set the translucent colors.
